The Goodyear Wrangler MTR With Kevlar tire has an asymmetrical tread design and the DuPont Kevlar reinforced sidewalls promises to be a contender in the hot MT tire market. Goodyear says using Kevlar increases sidewall toughness and puncture resistance by 35 percent. It also helps reinforce the sidewall for on-pavement driving. The asymmetrical tread design looks directional, but Goodyear says the tires are NOT directional, can run either way and have been tested that way. For those who don't like white lettering, the new MTR with Kevlar might disappoint, as many sizes will have white outline lettering. That means white outline letters out, ready to be scraped into white sidewalls by rocks. The larger sizes up to 42 inches, will have black lettering, so that will be fine. The silica tread compound enhances wet traction and the durometer seems to be between the old MTR and the sticky comp tires Goodyear has built. The rubber feels soft and supple when doing the old twist and fingernail tread test (scientific test procedure). The Goodyear MTR with Kevlar is a very competent tire and worthy descendent of the Wrangler MT and MTR.
These tires have amazing performance on snow and dirt. The tread pattern grabs on and off road. Great price.

1.0Won't be buying Goodyear's anymore
Really liked the tires but since Goodyear doesn't make any tires in my size anymore from any of their brands I'm forced to go to their competition

5.0Great tire for our Jeep Wrangler
We had the OEM Tires on our Jeep and they were very loud and not great in the snow. This tire has been a bit improvement.

1.0Won't buy again
I punctured two side walls in two years and are way out of balance. The more I drive them the more out of balance they get, my whole Jeep shakes at 65 mph or higher even with a five tire rotation every 3k miles. With approximately 10k miles I'm taking them off and buying different brand.

5.0On my 4th set of the same tires across two vehicles for a re
I've always told myself I'd try a different set of tires next time I need new tires just to try something new. Every time that day comes I can't get myself to buy anything different. I use these tires on my offroad vehicles, and they hold up to my abuse constantly. Only time I've ever had a flat was when there was a sharp piece of rebar sticking out of a rock I was crawling over. No tire would have survived that though. There has been many times I thought for sure I'd slash a sidewall but it came out unscathed. Hard to beat that durability.
Great tires. Great price. Aggressive look yet surprisingly smooth ride.
4.0Missing Raised white lettering
Kind of unhappy because in the picture it shows there is raised white lettering and I was looking for that for the look on my K5 Blazer. My K5 Blazer is painted two-tone orange and white and the raised white letters what have you looked a lot better then just the black letters!! I have not been able to use the tires in snow yet but I would think they'll be fine. Only unhappy about the raise letters with these tires
2.0pulls left hard
Great tires, except for the fact they pull to the left. Had to swap out.

I have Goodyear MTR with Kevlar on my 2017 Jeep Wrangler. I was told they wouldn’t perform on the beach when aired down They are 35/12.5/17. We were looking to get beach passes but don’t want any problems

hello! i have a 1983 k5 chevy blazer. stock height, open diffs. running 32 x 11.50 -15 mtrs. have been all the way down padre island national seashore on the texas coast. 60 miles each way. aired down to 25 psi. no issues! keep speed up a little in super dry sand if possible! take a shovel and a 5 gallon bucket to wet sand if you get stuck. go with a fellow 4 wheeler. and get a good snatch strap. have fun and dont be scared!

These are excellent tires for mud and rock crawling, I don't know how they would do in sand and we haven't heard from others about sand performance either.

Thank you for your question Nate. The Goodyear Tires 35X12.50R17LT, Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar part number GDY750740326 is a black sidewall tire.
What´s the minimum pressure they can be used? I want 35" tires, but I don´t want high pressure tires, hard as rock that worsen the ride quality of my truck.
Question No 2: How do they perform on the road being used at 80 or 90 mph?
2013 1500 4wd Ram pickup truck.
Answer this question
Hello Off Road Lover,
The Goodyear Tires 35X12.50R17LT, Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar GDY750740326 is one of the quietest MT tires on the road. The handing and road manors are very nice. I'd suggest running the tires anywhere from 35psi to 28psi with your vehicle. Thank you for the email
what pressure should these tires be at? Also what is the max pressure that these tires will hold.

i have a 2005 f250 4by4 with 265/70/17 on it. i want to put a 35inch tire on it. i believe the rim width is 7.5 inches. will this tire work?
Answer this question
Goodyear recommends a rim range of 8.5-11 inches when using this tire. You will need to add a lift of some kind to fit this wheel to your truck.
