G2 Axle & Gear is proud to introduce our new CORE 44 axle housing for 2007 and up Jeep JK Wranglers. Utilizing the strongest and latest generation high pinion Dana 44 gear design, we have developed a whole new housing to handle the heavy loads that would normally bend a stock rear axle. The CORE 44 will accept stock Dana 44 ring and pinions, axle shafts, and all aftermarket lockers. The CORE 44 features a unique Adjuster Nut System to easily set backlash and carrier pre-load. The CORE 44 includes heavy duty 3 x .250 inch wall tubing to resist bending in even the most extreme conditions. All CORE 44 brackets are laser cut and CNC formed from 3/8 inch steel for added strength, and are designed to allow bolt-in installation.

What are the largest tires size recommended for this axle? like i know the prorock 44 is recommended only up to 37's..
Answer this question
Talking to G2 they are saying they have tested it up to 40's with no problems with the housings. The weak point would be the ring and pinion since the lower the gear the smaller the pinion teeth. If you are doing hard wheeling I would look into ProRock 60's or the RockJock 60's
