    G2 aluminum differential covers are designed to not only protect your ring & pinion, they are designed to help cool your gear oil for prolonged bearing life. Made from high strength heat-treated cast 356-T6 aluminum to withstand direct hits, these covers help protect your investment while adding a distinct look to your vehicle.

    Moreover, the cover comes equipped with an integrated dipstick and magnetic drain plug, which attracts and traps fine metal shavings which are harmful and cause accelerated wear.

    5.0 So glad I to the chance to see if it fit

    Bought this for a 2004 avalanche. For those with 99 to 06 GM SUVs, you may know that this is a very difficult vehicle to fit an aftermarket cover on. But with the bad design and small size of the 8.6, they need all the help they can get. I do have aftermarket sway bars and panhard bar. So I am not sure about fit with OEM bars and the clearance is very tight, but it fits in my application. I can now drain and refill without removing suspension parts. It does hold an extra .5 quarts and the load bolts are simple added insurance for the bearings. By the way John at the Raleigh, NC store was great help in the back and forth to the store to make sure I had the right fit.

    What a nice piece! Very well made. I am very happy I bought this and will be buying one for the front soon. All install hardware was included, even a tube of RTV! It has a drain plug, an easy to use verticle fill plug and a oil level plug. I would buy this again.

    A: Per our manufacturer: Our old stock used to have the magnet. The new covers do not.

    Q: How much extra oil capacity?  Standard 8.8 is 3 quarts  Answer this question

    A: The G/240-2013-1AL load bolt style diff cover will not add much to the oil capacity. I believe it would mostly be less than a half of a quart of additional capacity. The G/240-2013MB is the extra capacity diff cover with more cooling also.

    A: Hi Timbooooooo The G/2 differential cover G/240-2021ALB will come with 5/16 sae bolts and silicone sealer. if you preferr a gasket i would recommend the Lube Locker LULLLR-G850 http://jo.my/8u4ljo. Thank You
