Looking for the ultimate in strength and reliability? Upgrade to G2 Axle & Gear's Dana 44 axle assembly. High-quality premium components are used throughout, ensuring both performance and reliability in one complete package. All components are sourced and matched according to G2's stringent quality specifications and bolt right up and in to your Jeep. Premium 4340 chromoly is utilized throughout, including the axles themselves (which serve as the foundation). The combination yields a bulletproof axle assembly that won't leave you stranded, mile-after-mile. Genuine Dana Spicer U-Joints are also used, ensuring long life and trouble-free performance. Instead of using cheaper, lower-quality bearings, G2 has taken the high road by offering up high-quality Timkin bearings and long-lasting National seals to ensure that all the lubricants stay in while keeping all the dust, dirt and grim out.
You can beef up your old Dana 30, regear it, add a locker etc, but when you're all done you still have a rebuilt Dana 30. When you add up the cost and if you're like me you'll have to pay a qualified mech. to set up the gear lash (that's a little over my head) you will find that for just a few hundred dollars more you could get this brand new built up Dana 44 with your choice of lockers, gears and axles. I was able to install it myself and after breaking it in took it out for a little rock crawling. I love it! I have one in the rear of my TJ as well and I really like the confidence I have with these strong axle assemblies

5.0Tj g2 Dana 44
I use this product for off road use and on road. Best deal I got from any other website. Looks awesome very easy to install and the only bad thing about this front end is the drive line needs to be cut down 1inch.

4.0Held up great on the Rubicon!!!
G2 makes a great product that is reasonably priced. Their customer service is also top notch as they are available to answer any questions. The axle held up great on the Rubicon Trail. Although, the aluminum cover is already damaged after only one trip, this is surely expected on the Rubicon. The only negative comment would be that NO directions are included. However, G2 is working on that.

4.5.6 is a good gear if you are running a 2.5 I-4 like i have.. if you have a Aluminimum danna 44 you WILL have to buy new rear boots for the axle to fit was the only drawback
Does the axle come with hard brake lines pre installed?

Is there instalation instructions available for the G2 rear axle for a 03 tj.
Dave from Placerville ca on
Yes they do have a sheet that helps with the install. It is the reverse of taking out the original axle so very basic. The only modification would be having the drive shaft shortened if needed. If you have a SYE kit a lot of those shafts work without any modifications.

Can i change it to a 1330 u joint?

Yes when you order it they will ask for your information. If you are reusing disc brakes what yoke size. So that is all covered when the order is placed.
