Easy Install Quick Shipment

Q: Do you have a mounting kit for a spare tire on top of the rack? Answer this question
A: No spare tire mount for this, the vendor doesn’t want weight up high. But they do offer this that will fit with a 37” tire and the rack: https://www.fishboneoffroad.com/products/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=2272&idcategory=105

Q: Kindly explain if that Fishbone rack can hold 500lbs. Or more weight wise. If I put a smittybilt overlander rooftop tent which can hold 3-4person a total of max load ratings 700lbs would this fishbone then eventually bend since the weight on it is heavier Answer this question
A: The rack will be fine with that setup. Fishbone had to rate the rack for both dynamic and static weight and after some testing we landed on 500lbs. The reason for this is they didn’t want someone on the trail with 800lbs throwing their vehicles center of gravity way off.

Q: If it only supports 500lbs., I’m assuming we can’t put a rooftop Smittybuilt tent on it since that weight plus humans and other gear would be more than that, right? Answer this question
A: Per Fishbone this rack was designed for tents. It holds 500 lbs of static weight.
