If you want to totally revamp the look of your JL, look no further than a set of Steel Fenders from Fishbone Offroad. These totally change the look and attitude of the Jeep. Made from Steel and then covered with a textured black powder coat that will match your bumpers and armor.
OK...so first off...5 stars to 4 Wheel Parts... ordered just before Christmas and got them Christmas Eve day. Very fast! And LOVE the way the final product looks! Installed front and rear inner and outer Fishbone Elite Fenders on the 2020 Jeep Gladiator with my 19 yo son. Although there are some videos on the website, specific videos for the 2020 Gladiator were lacking and there were enough subtle differences with the JL to make the job painful. I have listed my big complaints in bullet points. Hoping this helps other JT owners. Took us about 18 hours... should've taken us 1/2 that time. -Some videos suggest putting the inner fenders on first and some suggest vice versa. In reality you have to put the rear inner fenders on first as the outers share the some of the same holes. -Additionally the instructions about moving the air can on the driver side rear prior to inner fender install were not great. NO VIDEO ADDRESSED THIS (from what I could see). Seeing this in the video would be great. -You essentially have to put the front outers on before the inners because if you don’t you can’t reach behind to secure the nut to the bolt for the outers. -Simply unplugging the turn signal harness when removing the front outers was painful and took us 40 minutes. All of the videos skip right past this and show the harness unplugging easily. We literally had to cut the plastic connection on the stock fender side to get it loose (yes we had the red clip pulled out). We have 40000 miles on the truck. I recognize this isn’t Fishbone’s fault but some tips for getting a stuck plug apart would have been helpful. -The rubber seals (that go between the fender and the body of the jeep) with the 3M sticky side barely stuck to the fenders and was difficult to hold the position when we put the fenders up to the truck. The “sticky” part barely stuck at all. -When installing the front outers, you have to remove the “air vent” trim piece (where the Fishbone logo sits up against) because if you don’t the fender doesn’t sit flush to the body of the truck. NO mention of this in the instruction manual or video. -The LED lights and bracket were miserable to deal with. In the instructions it reads something to the effect of the “the directional lights should be closest to the body of the truck”. What does that mean? You look at the LEDs and they look the same. The housing is tapered but that’s the only difference. Additionally the bracket responsible for holding the light doesn’t hold the light well and if you over tighten the bracket it just crimps the outer metal on the bracket. I don’t think this mechanism is solid (which is the ONLY aspect about this setup that wasn’t ultimately solid). This absolutely needs to be videoed and explained better. Lights are SUPER bright and clean though and I do love them. -There were quite a few times the holes for the inners did not line up perfectly with the truck…even a simple statement such as “you may need to loosely screw in the oblong screw hole up top to allow the fender to slide and flex somewhat as the tolerances may be off due to minor production differences in the vehicle” would have been helpful. -Better instructions on how to insert and set a nutsert for the newly initiated would have been helpful…especially since the instructions suggest to use the wrench technique for the front M5 nutsert…which didn’t work by the way. I had to up drill and use a nutsert insertion tool (that I already had...only had M6 and larger mandrel). And speaking of the M5 nutsert… In the video it suggests that there is a pushpin for the front inner fenders at that hole and doesn’t mention anywhere that we are supposed to use the M5 nutsert. Another tip... it was tight using a standard nutsert insertion tool... turn the wheels to get better straight on access. I recognize I could just pay an off-road shop to do the work but I thought it would be a great bonding experience with my son. And although we did enjoy spending time together on the project, it was unnecessarily complex and took way longer than it should. We could probably have done the job in half the time if we had good jeep gladiator truck videos for both inner and outers for front and rear. Again, the end product looks great but way to painful getting to there. My hope is the next JT Gladiator owner doesn’t have to suffer unnecessarily. As a side-note I would say that I am moderately adept at mechanical projects (installed a Jeep dual battery kit with no problem thanks to excellent videos).
The holders for the lights are thin gauge steel and don’t hold the lights without bending. The lights pop out of the holders when you try to tighten them because of the bending. 6 days after installing the fenders, one of the lights failed. Calling for support, the answer I got was that Fishbone had to contact the light manufacturer. A week later I haven’t heard anything more. And the lights don’t appear to have a high quality replacement, at least that I can find.
Q: rear fenders to match? Answer this question

Q: Do these fenders come with the led lights Answer this question
A: Yes, they come with the lights but the holders for the lights are thin gauge and don’t hold the lights well. After 6 days one of the lights failed and getting a replacement seems to be difficult.
