Replace conventional winch hooks with the new safer, stronger, and smarter Factor 55 ProLink shackle mount. Factor 55 introduces the new ProLink shackle mount for winch cables and synthetic ropes. Engineered and machined in the USA from lightweight billet 6061 aluminum, the ProLink provides a safe means to easily attach a standard 3/4 inch screw pin shackle to existing winch cable and rope eyes The cable or rope eye is captured into the body of the ProLink by a removable oversized 5/8 inch double shear pin.
While most all winches come with a hook, they are inherently unsafe when pulling horizontally. A crane uses a hook but it has gravity to help keep the sling or chain in the bottom of the hook. On a Jeep we are pulling sideways which allows the sling, tree saver, strap etc... to fall out if we have to slack the line, or makes it hard to get the line tight if we are winching ourselves. With this product, you use a shackle that keeps anything that is placed through it in place. This allows you to hook up your tree saver with slack in the line, then walk back to your jeep and take up the slack, all without worrying about it coming loose. MUCH MUCH safer than a hook because the hook can straighten out. Most of our jeeps and winches cannot exceed the working load limit of a 3/4" Shackle, much less the breaking strength.
I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2000 used for SAR. My winch is a Warn Powerplant with a Masterpull synthetic rope. Which version of the Prolink do I need... the Prolink Loaded (16,000 lb) or XXL (24,000 lb)?

The Warn Powerplant winch's are rated at 9500 pounds and 12000 pounds. The loaded will be just fine for the 9500 pound rated winch and i would recommend the XXL for the 12000 pound winch. Thank you
