Do not buy

I bought one of these awhile ago it broke in two trips. It has pin that engage into slots and they take a real beating. If you are running a 8.8 do not buy this product you will not be happy.

I have a jeep with a Ford 8.8 axle. I've read a bunch of treads stating the design of the Eaton eLocker for the 8.8 is poor and as a result, the locker is extremely vulnerable to breaking. Is this a true statement? Have you received more customer complaints/warranty claims on the ELocker vs other lockers for the 8.8? Thank you for your feedback.

Asked by Steve Real from Bella Vista AR on

Hello We have had very few returns on this unit the last was over 2 years ago. The 8.8 locker was out of stock for almost a full year so not that many sales. But since they have been back in stock for the last 11 months we have had no returns. The most common complaint is not locking the electric coil down correctly. Which is installer error not a fault of the unit. If it is not locked down with the supplied tap it will spin and pull the wires loose.
