Q: Hey I have a 05 Toyota Tacoma Trd off road 4x4... it does have the locker but you can only engage it if in 4low... would this locker be better to have while not being in 4wheel drive and for being in 4high? thank you! Answer this question

A: Hi Sky To replace the factory locker you will need to replace the entire center section or drop out in the truck the Detroit TrueTrac or any other locker will not fit in the factory case. If you check on line with the many Toyota oriented forums there will be articles on changing the wiring to engage the factory locker on demand and bypassing the 4 Low requirement. A great locker for the front would be the ARBRD111 it is a selectable unit that goes from open to spool lik the rear but is air operated and the compressor can be used for airing up the tires at the end of the day. Thank You

Q: I have a 2001 toyota tacoma 4wd Trd off road. I have an open differential and want to put in a limited slip. My truck has a button to lock the rear differential but it says that I can't use it with speeds over 5 mph. Will this product work with my trick? And if it won't. What will? Answer this question

A: The Differential in the rear of your Toyota TRD is a fantastic unit. It is an electric selectable locker that becomes a spool when activated. If you take the time to check on the different Toyota forums you should be able to find an article bypassing the computer speed override and make it a full manual switch. It is a very popular and simple process I think you just clip a single wire and that’s it. as far as putting a Detroit True Trac in the front that will make that thing a mountain goat look at part number EAT911A644 or an ARBRD90 for something selectable.
