The Eaton ELocker4 is an electronic, selectable differential designed for drivers that need traction on-demand. At the flip of a switch, drivers can go from open to 100-percent locked and back again. The 4 pinion gear design provides added strength and capability for more extreme vehicles, and features the fastest engagement (.14 seconds).
After not being able to get parts and seeing the ware on the engagement ramp and the price of there parts, I no longer recommend Eaton E-lockers or any Eaton products. I was able to rewind the electric magnet and smooth down the ramp to get it working, but for how long I don't know.
Q: Curious what I need for lockers on my 2012 JK Unlimited; running 2.5" on 35s; 3:73 gearing 6 speed manual. Front and rear & any special tooling? Is this something a novice could perform well (aka - good instructions, etc and approximate cost to complete (no labor cost) Answer this question
A: Hello The E-Lockers are pretty easy to install compared to other units like the ARB or Ected. Here are a couple of links for the units you would need for your JK. I would install new carrier bearings while you are there. The front unit does take a different bearing to install also I have them listed in the links. http://www.4wheelparts.com/Drivetrain-Differentials/Dana-44-30-Spline-3-73-Down-4-Pinion-E-Locker.aspx?t_c=12&t_s=237&t_pt=5589&t_pn=EAT19977-010 http://www.4wheelparts.com/Drivetrain-Differentials/Dana-30-27-Spline-3-73-Up-E-Locker.aspx?t_c=12&t_s=237&t_pt=5589&t_pn=EAT19818-010 http://www.4wheelparts.com/Drivetrain-Differentials/Differential-Bearing.aspx?t_c=12&t_s=237&t_pt=8587&t_pn=TIMLM102949 http://www.4wheelparts.com/Drivetrain-Differentials/Differential-Bearing-Race.aspx?t_c=12&t_s=237&t_pt=8587&t_pn=TIMLM102911 http://www.4wheelparts.com/Drivetrain-Differentials/Dana-44-Differential-Carrier-Bearing-Kit.aspx?t_c=12&t_s=237&t_pt=8587&t_pn=D%2fS706032X

Q: I currently have these lockers F&R in my 94 ZJ with 4.56 gears, and 30 spline Chromo axles, they work amazing! The issue I have is that the LP D30 has smoked two gear sets, so I am looking at swapping in a HP D30 but want to make sure the locker is the same before pulling the trigger on buying the new gears as I know those will be different. Answer this question
A: Hello Yes it does take the same locker for the high pinion. Thanks
