As practical as sliced bread, the Daystar Winch Isolator stops the rattles while giving you a practicle place to secure your winch hook. Installation is as easy as 1, 2, 3! Simply disconnect your winch hook, run your cable through the isolator and reinstall your hook. You're done! Once installed the Daystar Isolator rests between the rollers of your fairlead and will not interfere with winching operations. Features: Easy installation. No welding. No drilling. Solid 1-piece urethane construction
This thing is a wonderful idea however there are some major flaws. This DOES NOT WORK if you have a Smittybilt winch. The fairlead roller they supply is about .5" smaller in horizontal width, therefore i had to use a table saw to cut it down to size. also THIS DOES NOT work if you want to also add on the roller snap on license plate bracket. Does not leave enough room for the clamps to fit over the rollers. I was finally able to get it to work with my smittybilt winch and the license plate bracket but only after chopping off a total of .5" on both sides for a total of 1" cutdown. Other then those flaws, it is a wonderful product.

I had read the earlier reviews that indicated some people's hook did not lay flat in this isolator. I have a Warn M8000, with the stock hook. The hook sort of snaps onto the plug in the isoloator, so it's perfectly secure, and definitely lays flat. In fact I have my front license plate mounted using the Mag-Lite brackets (a fairly common method) and it works perfectly with that, except that I had to grind away a bit from each lower corner of the isolator, so the clips had room to clear; since the isolator fills the space between the fairlead rollers.

OK..doesn't cure all rattles!
Not bad...did reduce some of the rattling on my winch, but not all. So, product works OK.

Use with my Warn VR8000 and roller fairlead. Fits perfectly, does what it advertises. Good stuff!

Glad to have purchased
Keeps hook from rattling and is excellent for using as a weight on winch line.

It does the job just fine
This is actually a good product and it does the job of keeping metal parts away from each other. It eliminates rattles and noise, may also work as a weight on the winch line if it were to snap, although I haven't had that experience... and don't want to! Only thing that keeps it from being a 5-star product is that the design doesn't force the hook to stay perfectly flush (as the pictures would indicate) and the hook actually sticks out about 15 degrees. Not a big deal really but if you ever thought of using a fairlead mounted license plate holder, forget about it.

Best way to keep winch line tight
Solid and holds the tow hook in place. Takes some effort to get it in place, but the tight fit keeps it in position

Keeps winch cable hook in place and not resting on fairlead roller.
