I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie 5.9 diesel quad cab. I need to know the part numbers of the Dana/Spicer u-joints for this truck. I have a vibration in the rear and plan on replacing all of the u-joints within the next 6 months. I've looked on some forums and it appears if other aftermarket u-joints are used they are a slightly different size. Will you help me?
Answer this question
the front driveshaft will use the D/S 5-790X at the CV head and the D/S 5-795X at the axle IF you have a Spicer drive shaft. Most trucks have AAM shafts in them as AAM supplied the axles for your truck.Check the U-Joint cap to see if the caps say Spicer on them if not they are AAM. We do not carry the AAM line of joints and i do not have a listing for Spicer cross over. The U-Joint series for the front shaft is a 1355 and a 1485 in the rear. the front axle joints are a Dana Spicer 5006813 These are not listed on the web but are available through our call center. Your best bet is to get the AAM joints through your Dodge Dealer..
It will work as long as your Dodge is between a 1994 - 2002
Will this fit a 2000 7.3l F350 XLT 2wd dually?
From diagrams I have seen I would need 3 of these for the drive shaft, is that correct to?
Answer this question
There are two U-Joints listed for your 2000 Ford F-350. The 1410 is rather rare but since you are a Dully it is very possible. Most trucks use the 1350 series Attached is a link to Dana Mate showing the application http://jo.my/mvmhzz . Please confirm the U-Joints you will need by measuring the height of the U-Joint. The 1350 D/S5-178X http://jo.my/56ewo measures .3.625" tall from top of cup to top of cup and the 1410 D/S5-160X http://jo.my/n4ae8g measures 4.188" from top of cup to top of cup. Thank You
