    Q: i have a 1983 cj7 with a chevy 350. the key got stuck in the ignition switch so we used pliers for a while in place of the ignition. now where the ignition attaches to the steering column is all chewed up. can't get the new ignition switch to work. is there a repair kit or a replacement part rather than a new steering column. I'm having a hard time finding a used steering column for my jeep,or is there a comparable steering column that might be easier to locate? any info will be awesome. Answer this question

    Q: How do you get the old cylinder out if you do not have the old key? Also are there any tips you could give us to be able to install the new one. Thank you so much. Answer this question

    A: Connor- Thanks for asking. Without the original key you will need a locksmith to remove the original ignition cylinder as it needs to be turned to be removed. Once the old cylinder is out the new one slides right in.
