A: hello The correct way is to measure center line of U-Joint to center line of U-Joint. So it would be the two farthest apart U-Joints on the CV style shaft.

A: Hello When they measure the drive shafts it is from center line to center line of the universal joints. At this time the drive shaft is on back order from Crown and I also checked Dana also back ordered. If you call in one of the sales guys should be able to find you a drive shaft in a different brand.

A: Hi Jeff The maximum extended length is 34.5" before you start pulling the splines out of the seal. Thank You

A: The Crown Automatic front driveshaft has a 32.680" Collapsed Length so it should expand to the 34.5 inch center to center measurement. I would be concerned if you do any decent off roading that you may end up over extending this shaft if the front axle is flexed.
