Jeep YJ multi function switch
Don’t run a coat hanger or wire puller to thread this through. Take off all steering column bolts and open the plastic wire protector under the bracket. Put one round of electrical tape around the switch to protect the terminals and push it in. Once it gets snug use a rod or dull instrument te GENTLY push it through being careful not to break it. I used Dawn dishwashing detergent on the electrical tape. It’s a tight fit but easy with no other obstructions.

A: Hello The are a little hard to install the first time you try. The switch is under the lock plate for the steering wheel. Then running the wire through I tape the new connector to the old wires and pull them down the column. You would need a steering wheel puller and a way to compress the lock plate to remove the clip. Thanks

Q: The lever is limp when trying to use blinkers, the headlight dimmer and wiper functions still work. Can I replace only the turn signal or is it advisable to replace the entire unit. I have limited down time with my jeep, so I need to have a plan before starting. Answer this question
A: Hello Tina, Thank you for the question. I recommend replacing the entire unit at once. This way you avoid damaging the currently working portions.

Q: Is this for a YJ Wrangler with a tilt steering column? Does this also control the bright lights? Answer this question
A: Jason- Thanks for your question. According to Crown Automotive this is the correct turn signal switch for all YJ wranglers. It does include the high beam switch.
