These seat belts/harnesses were a replacement for stock three-point seat belts and were installed in conjunction wiht new Carbeau seats in my CJ5. The installation was straightforward and relatively simple. I was able to use the stock seat belt mounts for the lap belt points, and mounted the roller reel on the back inside wheel wells. What I especially liked about the design was the roller reel. My aerobatic plane has Carbeau 3" harnesses installed in it, so I'm familiar with the quality of the belts. However, as you can imagine, with standard harnesses, once you are strapped in you are unable to move forward so everyting has to be within reach. For that application this is quite acceptable; however, in a Jeep where you may need to lean forward to adjust the radio, or reach for something, this is not quite an optimum solution. The roller reel solves this issue by allowing the occupants to move as they would wearing standard seat belts, but with the added advantage of a four-point harness for security and safety. The Carbeau harness also allows you to quickly lock the roller with a simple half turn. Once the roller reel is disabled the restrainsts now act like standard harnesses, allowing the occupant to tighten down the shoulder straps to restrict forward movement. This is especially conveninet for off-roading, effectively locking the occupant securely into the cockpit area. Frankly, Carbeau came up with the perfect solution for those of us that drive our off-road vehicle on a daily basis, while affording the protection and security of full harness restraints. I give this product five stars for overall functionality and ease of installation!

Installed in 1976 Jeep CJ-7 as a floor mount. I used a single grade 8 7/16" floor bolt to mount to and tied it directly to the frame. I'm sure if you use 3 mounting points and spread it out more it fits no problem, but for me, gonna have to get some after market extensions. No big deal.Also would like to see a chest "H" shaped bracket for my kids so they can't wiggle out of it.Alright enough with the negative. These seatbelts are probably the coolest and most functional harness style out there, by far. It's everything your standard seatbelt is with ability to lean forward and reposition on long trips with the HUGE added safety and awesome aesthetics of Corbeau. Very happy, and they do exactly what they say they do, and sturdy as hell quality with thick, solid stitch work. No flimsy stuff, all grade 8 style metal with everything of top notch craftsmanship. Save your money by from buying cheap [@] stuff you'll regret an just do it right the first time. I'm throwing my 3 point shoulder belts away. Find them on [@]! Haha.

The description for the product doesn't say there is a weight minimum.........I purchased these for my 4 and 6 year old when doors are off. They don't adjust enough to hold my younger child. A clip attaching the two shoulder harnesses together would be a nice addition. That would ensure proper placement of harness on body. Good product, but I wish I could've been a more informed shopper.

These went in easy as a second set of belts. I still use the standard belts for daily use but have the real deal for race day. Don't waist your energy trying to stay in your seat taking.
