Body Armor's new sculpted design is compact to the body to maximize departure angles. 3/16 inch steel plate for strength. Machined pivot shaft for the swing arm. Reinforced gusseted mounting plates enhance the strength of the bumper. Double D- ring mounting points for recovery points. The bumper is notched to retain the factory trailer hitch preserving the Jeep's towing capability. Easy bolt on installation. Requires the purchase of part number B/A5294 swing arm tire carrier.
Easy install. Packaging and delivery could have been better but I received all the parts I needed. Looks really good on my truck. Prepare for lower mpg this thing weighs 70 lbs more then factory bumper. Says it doesn’t support BSM and Reverse sensors only because there is no place to bolt the module, I just zipped tied it to the frame and it worked perfectly.
Product has a twist in it and the license plate lights fit poorly
At first I thought this was the perfect bumper. It allowed for me to retain my factory tow package, add some square lights, add shackles, and was just all around solid. When I picked up my vehicle, the spare tire slightly rubbed on the bumper and you had to pull up on the tailgate when closing (slamming), and forget about opening, the spare being wedged like it was (when closed) forced me to lift up on the handle/tailgate just to open it. My wife would have never been able to do this. The shop was forced to add a spare tire extender of about 2" so it won't rub, which it doesn't. Let me add that my tire is a Ridge Grappler 285x75x17, little over 32". Now my spare rattles and is just plain annoying when I'm on the trail - which I do often. I contacted BA directly twice and have not heard back from them, and honestly, I don't expect to as I later found out that this is a common issue with this particular bumper - not adapting to tires of tires larger than 32". So, as long as you don't intend on tires larger than 32", it's great, but if you love the bumper and want to add 33" or larger tires, "they"/Body Armor expects that you'll buy their spare tire carrier - which cost hundreds more than the bumper itself. Lesson learned, thoroughly read reviews from multiple sources before making a purchase.
This product is awesome just what I wanted! The angle at the quarter panel is a little off but hardly noticeable
Bumper looks good and seems to be well made. Only issues are; it sits 1/2” off center to the left and where there should be a hole for the “bumper mounted” ball there is no cut out so the bumper sits up a bit more than it should because the ball mount is actually in the top of the 2” receiver assembly, stock license plate lights don’t work and none are provided, the trailer plug hole is upside down to stock making the harness nearly too short because of the plug being side mounted and the back up sensor mounts are a pain in the behind. Was very disappointed in 4wheelparts customer service, I was never informed the item was back ordered and then when it did ship I wasn’t notified, only way I knew about either even was to sit on hold with the call center for 25-35min each time and even then the information was extremely vague.
The instructions were simple and easy to follow. An extra pair of hands is a must. Also tape the spacers in place it’ll help them not move when lining up the bumper.

Q: How large of a spare tire will fit with clearance from the bumper Answer this question
A: There are going to be a few different variables as to what tire carrier and what type of wheel, but the general consensus is a 33-37”. The bumper itself is pretty tight to the body.
