Bilstein B8 6112 leveling kits are designed to provide more ground clearance, allow for larger tires, and increase wheel travel. Multiple snap-ring grooves in the body allow for different spring seat positions, providing 0-2.75 inches of front lift (depending on application). These kits consist of (2) 60mm shock absorbers combined with (2) custom matched cold wound coil springs and (2) billet aluminum spring seats. The large 60mm digressive piston allows for increased damping control for optimal on-road and off-road capabilities. Experience the legendary Bilstein off-road experience with the best direct fit spring and shock kit for your light truck or SUV.
Getting the most out of your off-roading adventures requires customizing your ride. When rugged terrain is in your future, getting a little lift without having to replace your whole system is an easy and economical option. If a leveling kit is your perfect solution, for your Toyota 4Runner, consider the Bilstein B8 6112.
The Perks of a Lift
Having the front of the vehicle lower than the rear is not an ideal scenario for off-roading and can eventually cause wear on your suspension system and underside damage. The B8 6112 - suspension kit corrects that by raising the front. Along with added protection, it also makes it possible to accommodate bigger tires, enhances handling and minimizes brake pressure during a fast stop.
Quality You Can Count On
Any addition you make to your ride needs to durable and constructed with quality in mind. The 6112 Bilstein fits both of those requirements. The kit comes with two 60 mm shock absorbers, two cold wound coil springs and two billet aluminum spring seats. The zinc-plated finish is resistant to heat and adds to the durability. Along with knowing you are getting a quality part from a leader in the industry, 4 Wheel Parts strives to help you get the best deal around. Awesome parts came surprisingly fast. I was skeptical of the transaction it was so quick, and this is with parts that are on 4-8 week back orders on other websites.
Q: What’s the difference between the regular height adjustable 5100 shocks you can get from bilstein and these with the new coil springs? Are these coils designed for more weight added on the front of the 4Runner? Answer this question
A: Unsure if original response posted...shocks keep wheels on the ground. Springs support additional sustained loads (pre load). Bilstein 200 lb front and 400 lb rears are forgiving for daily driving but stiffen up on obstacles. I have added 650 additional lbs to my rig w accessories. They (shocks and springs) have different duties, and they work together. TOTALLY worth it if you're gonna venture outside of pavement. Careful on the 700lb springs out there if you're not packing that kinda load as they ARE STIFF for daily driving. Have fun!!

A: As far as I understand, the 5100 series Shocks, although adjustable in set height, will not compensate for additional loads for long. Shocks keep the wheels intact with the ground (and rocks), but are not designed for, or helpful with supporting the pre load of winches, bumpers, armor, rooftop additions etc. Their (Bilstein) springs ARE designed for and do support those heavy pre loads. The B8s have set ratings and I have the 200lb on the front and 400lb on the rear. They work perfectly for the additional 650lbs I added to my rig and ride like the stock T4R as a daily driver but are stiff enough to allow some moderate Rock crawling. There ARE heavier duty springs (700lb additional) load springs out there, however, if you are NOT consistently having that type of load, they Will ride VERY stiff.

Q: Can I use my stock coils with these shocks or do they go hand in hand? Answer this question
A: Hello Cory, I doubt your stock coils would be wide enough for these dampers. Please use provided springs. Thanks for checking us out. You can also call us, if you have questions as well 877-474-4821.

While the ThyssenKrupp Bilstein Company began as a German enterprise, Bilstein shocks are developed and manufactured in Hamilton, Ohio. Bilstein develops and fabricates premium quality monotube shock absorbers directly for automobile manufactures, aftermarket outfits and motorsports applications. The precision and craftsmanship in manufacturing that fueled company growth in Germany were brought straight to the factory in Hamilton, Ohio. The factory includes an engineering department, rigorous shock testing facility and a motorsports track. The track allows the engineers to tweak their designs in response to real world testing during development. The rigorous testing allows for designs to go through a machine simulated life of a shock absorber in all kinds of terrain conditions. The resulting products promise the highest in performance.
