Bilstein has received worldwide acclaim for quality shock absorbers that have set new industry standards. Setting high standards has always been a top priority with Bilstein and a consistent set of parameters and performance guidelines go into the development of each Bilstein shock application. Proven design technology, a superior manufacturing process and a commitment to quality control characterize the Bilstein shock absorber production process.
The ride quality of these shocks and struts is fantastic. I would highly recommend anyone looking to upgrade, or just replace their suspension look into a set of Bilstein 5100's . Well worth the price.
Awesome replacement for original shocks/struts on 2014 Tundra. At install they were able to level out truck as well.
Awesome product no complaints. Pictures show lower spring retainer, it doesn’t come with it. This package retains the factory retainer.
Installed on 2016 Ram 2500,6.4 Hemi, 4x4. Very happy with results, nice firm feel. Truck has front level kit, make sure you order correct part numbers. Top mounts can be a little bit of a hassle but take a beer break and all is wellߑ͠happy with purchase!
Great shocks! I replaced the OEM’s and leveled the front-to-back with the Bilstein 5100’s. Great ride on street and handle well off-road. My install was for an 2009 Toyota FJCruiser. These are a great choice for OEM replacement with a couple steps up in ride and performance. Luv’m Brian - Central CA
Great products great price can never go wrong with bilstiens
2014 Lexus GX460 OEM shock replacements. Front set at 1.75", plus 1" spacers for the rear. kept the factory springs to improve the Lexus ride. 285/70-17s to fill the wheel well void.
Ride is firm, far better overall ride then the OEM. My 2015 jeep grand cherokee laredo 101000 miles. I did raise front to level jeep. I have Parelli scorpion AT tires 18 inch OEM rims. Very happy with shocks
Q: I have a 2013 toyota rav4, I'm looking to lift but I'm curious if these shocks will add any lift to my vehicle. Answer this question
A: You will not see any added lift by simply adding shocks. Shocks do not add lift. You can get longer than stock shocks to accommodate the increased travel that a suspension lift provides.
Answered by Wilster from Washington on 09/17/2022
A: I believe you can get 3" of lift. It should tell you when you go to their website.
Answered by Brewnay from Huntington Beach, CA on 09/15/2022
A: The front struts are adjustable. So, yes you can add some lift to your vehicle. How much lift you go will ultimately be limited by your control arms, steering linkage, etc… The rear shocks do not add lift. You will need to that through a spacer or springs.

Q: I have a 2020 chevy Silverado with a 6 inch lift can I use 5100 series shock package Answer this question
A: I am no mechanic however if you have spacers or a body lift, you can use the 5100s I would just call for four wheel parts and ask to make sure
Answered by billy88 from Encinitas, San Diego on 05/05/2021
A: I don’t know much about the Chevy Silverado with the lift, but I do know a friend with 5100s on his Silverado and loves them, I put mine on my 14 Tacoma 4 x 4 and it rides like a dream on and off road! Maybe look at a blog, but I highly suggest them. By far the best shocks at that price point!

Q: Hello, I'm looking at buying a set of these shocks for my 2018 GMC 1500 SLT 4x4. Do I need a spring compressor to use my existing front springs? And u have an existing 2" level kit. Is that a problem? Thank you!! Answer this question
A: Yes, the springs must be compressed in order to remove the springs from the existing shocks and also they must be installed compressed over new shocks, leveling and lift systems on the top make no difference, other than that the new Bilstein shocks must be in the stock ride height position for installation.
Answered by JAM2020 from High Desert CA on 03/28/2021
A: I have an ‘18 Chevy. You will absolutely need a spring compressor. And not a cheep rental from your local auto parts store. I tried that and lost the battle. Mine were stout. I tried to do it myself. I gave up and hired a shop. And I’ve done this before. As for the existing 2” lift, my opinion is they should still work. I’d leave them on the bottom (OEM) setting. Directions will make that setting clear. Don’t raise the ring. I did not have a leveling kit. I set my shocks on the 3rd highest range. That gave me a little over 2”. The stocks have a lot of travel. I live off a dirt road. Not even a well maintained one. These shocks provided a very noticeable ride difference over factory. Liked them so much, I put them on my wife’s Grand Cherokee a month after my Chevy got a set. I think they will do great. Again, just one guys opinion. Good luck!
Answered by KP's Silverado from Oklahoma on 03/27/2021
A: Yes, a spring compressor will be required to remove and re-install the coil spring onto the front struts. 4WP offers multiple leveling kits for the 2018 GMC 1500 4x4.

Q: I have looked everywhere, and this site is the only site that 'says' that the Bilstein 4 5100's will fit my 97 Ford F350 4x4 with a 4 inch Suspension Lift. Can your team please verify that these will fit, if they do, I will buy them. Answer this question
A: I wouldn’t believe ANY site. The best way to figure out if it’ll fit is by measuring the collapsed and extended lengths of your current shocks and match that up with new shocks

A: Call them. I just went thru it with my lifted '96 Tahoe. They will order you the correct length. For your Ford. Yes they fit. With the correct length.

Q: I want this kit installed in a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 2WD, Can I use the higher setting? do I need anything else besides the kit such as coil springs or spacers? Thanks Answer this question
A: You can run it on the highest setting with stock coils, but it’ll end up squatting your truck if you don’t lift the rear too. I ran mine on the second to highest setting and pretty much leveled it out. I would recommend a 1/4 inch spacer for the driver side to compensate for the natural lean of the truck aka “taco lean”

A: Not sure but I’d keep it at the lowest setting and get lift springs. You don’t want to compress the spring too much by putting on high setting. You can but you will wear out the coils faster

A: 1st Answer - The Bilstein site gives you option to review your vehicle and product selection for match. 2nd answer, Bilstein fronts have 4 adjustment-rings etched into the shock. The included instructions are clear which ring produces a 2.5” desired lift for the vehicle.

Q: How in the heck does a chock by itself raise a vehicle??? There is no way with out some sore of them or block under the springs Answer this question
A: So, you are right. The rear shocks are just that, shocks. They do not lift the vehicle at all, just help restore ride height lost from bad shocks that might cause the vehicle to sag. The front, though, are actually struts, or “shocks within a coil-over”. Long story short, on this strut there is an adjustable locking ring, that when said it’s furthest point actually “creates” the effect of a coil spring spacer, like a leveling kit from any other manufacturer. Just a different way to do it. Wouldn’t say it’s any better or worse than any other leveling kit system.

Q: I have a 2018 Silverado 1500 with a 2" RC leveling kit currently. I am not looking to raise the front anymore just wanting to replace the factory shocks. Am I able to install these with the 2" RC leveling kit I currently have? Answer this question
A: I think you could but I wouldn’t do that. A spacer lift just pushes the entire shock assembly down to raise the vehicle. These shocks are longer with longer shafts and have more travel then OE shocks. They raise the vehicle by adding preload. I put these on my Nissan Titan and left them in stock height. I also have them on my FJ Cruiser. It had a 3” spacer on it. I replaced them with the 5100s set at the 3rd notch. Way better ride. So you don’t need 2 lifts on your truck. I would find different shocks if you want to keep your RC spacer. You’ll get more travel out of the 5100s.
