Bestop Windjammers

I used this wind jammer on a road trip with the safari top. It allowed me to control airflow to my comfort level, especially in the Fall morning and evening temperatures. The wind jammer provides 3 snaps for installation with a deck cover. I strapped mine up behind the rear seat on the roll bar as instructed. I used the soft top tailgate bar with some bungee straps and hooked to the ends of the bar and the cargo tie down loops on the jeep floor. This seems to work quite well. I also installed the snaps on the forward end of my Tuffy security deck lid as an alternative securing point, but the top sits lower and the snaps do not hold well under tension. (Snaps will work better if used on a vertical surface.) The tailgate bar is curved with the tailgate and doesn't leave that great of a shape, but it does the trick in a pinch. You can also use a small strip of wood such as quarter inch round trim and slide it through the loops behind the snaps or secure snaps to the strip of wood and strap it to either cargo tie-downs or rear child seat loop on the back of the rear seat. The screws for the snaps are weak. Do not try to torque them threw metal or wood with a small pilot hole.

This is high quality that is expected from Best Top. But this product (80039-35) does NOT go the floor as the product description indicates. It is only designed to be used with the dust cover. There is no way to secure the bottom to anything but the dust cover... unless I'm missing something.
