Q: For mostly city driving, for my 2008 nissan xterra, would you recommend polyurethane or rubber bushings? Answer this question
A: Polyurethane bushings are stiffer than rubber and will not allow as much suspension pivot movement , giving a more controlled feeling. Being stiffer will not absorb road vibrations very well, giving a more “feel the road” feeling. Rubber bushings are softer than polyurethane and will absorb road vibrations very well, giving a more compliant ride. Being softer will allow for more suspension pivot movement giving a more spongy feel.
