Old Man Emu's 4 inch lift kit for the Jeep Wrangler JK, 2 and 4 door models will drastically improve the off-road capabilities of your Jeep. Additional ground clearance, greater wheel travel, improved handling and the capability to add up to 35 inch tires are the benefits you'll receive by installing this kit. The included NitroCharger Shocks are valved specifically for the Jeep JK and provide a substantial improvement over the inferior factory shocks, they won't sag or fade during the rigors of off-road driving. Kit includes a 2 year/24,000 mile warranty.
easy to install afther my friends told me how to do it.i have done shocks but only once before springs.
Great Kit. I was replacing the OME Light Duty kit that I had for 10 years, as I am getting steel bumpers. The OME kit it replaced was a great, bulletproof kit that was well worth the money. I am confident I will get at least 10 years of great performance from this kit. Ordering was easy and it was delivered quickly.
2002 Jeep TJ After lots of research I went with the Old Man Emu 2" lift with heavy load springs. I was told this could take 6-8 weeks to be delivered, but received it in less than two weeks. The lift was straight-forward and included detailed instructions. Easy install and included everything needed. Stance has been improved, handles great offroad and on road, and easily fits 33" tires. Be aware- you will need to drill 2 holes to install the rear track bar (panhard) mount extension. Total time for install was about 4 hours, but that included a trip to the hardware store for a couple of drill bits...
The ARB lift kit is an incredible system that adds "as little as possible, but as much as I need" to my '21 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. This kit had everything including the tool and instructions. The local team in Anaheim received the parts in two days, and two days later had me scheduled for the installation. The price was fair and the quality is everything I expected from the ARB product family. Again, the local team made the purchase feel unique to me and provided world class service.
Thought I would comment on this as there was no response. I have been running OME for years on a variety of vehicles in harsh African safari conditions. OME performs fantastic in all conditions. The key when fitting an OME suspension it to match the system to your requitements i.e. the front coils must be matched to your load carrying requirements (no bull bar, bull bar or bull bar with winch). Similarly the rear must be matched according to your load requirements (long range tank, canopy, roof top tent) etc. If you go into the OME catalog, they talk about constant load rating for their coils and spring blade stacks. What they mean by constant load is what is the additional constant load that your vehicle is subject to all the time over and above the stock vehicle like the accessories on the front and the back of the vehicle. If you do not match this then the vehicle will not have correct ride height. It will either be too low or took high and not ride as designed. Similarly you can select shocks with a firm valving or a soft standard valving. Get this right and you will have an exceptional vehicle.
My son and i put this on his 1994 YJ and we have both loved the difference! Just as a heads up, the old YJ leafsprings were almost completly flat, so with this kit and OME greasable shackles the YJ was lifted about 3+ inches! We ended up throwing in a SYE instead of the T-case drop, and added 6* shims to the rear leafsprings instead of the factory OME 1.5* shims that came with the kit, but we are extremely happy with the end result! We are running a 285x75 tire with this setup, no body lift, and it fits great.
I'll go ahead and give it 5 stars. I've had this lift on my truck for about 2,500 miles now (put in 16.5k on stock suspension). I will say in the looks department, it delivered exactly what I was looking for. In terms of handling, I think there are some improvements over the stock. The truck doesn't have as much body roll in turns and has much less dive when getting on the brakes. I will say, that I can feel harder bumps on the road quite a bit more than stock, but I think that will soften once I get the heavier front bumper, sliders, etc. installed. If you're not planning on adding any extra weight to the truck, you're probably better off with the Medium Kit. Overall I'm very happy with this kit. I haven't haven't been able to take it out wheeling just yet, but hopefully I can update this post with some notes on off-road performance soon.
Very easy to install and the lift looks great, ready for the trail
Q: With this kit will it need the longer upper control arms? Answer this question
A: No. I put one on my 2007 FJ Cruiser and had one professionally installed on the 2016 4Runner. Neither needed new control arms. On the FJ I did need to get new clamps for the axle boots as the angle changes just enough that the stock clamps didn't hold - a known result for the FJ - but no issues with the 4 Runner. By the way, the 4Runner is soooooo much better on any bump with the OME lift (Medium duty with 150 lb roof top tent)

Q: Is there an option to have front coil springs assembled onto struts? Answer this question
A: None that I know of. A $25 spring compressor from Harbor Freight will do the job with no problem!
Answered by TacoGuy99 from Traverse City, MI on 05/12/2021
A: Sorry, we do not provide an option to have the front struts pre-assembled with the coil springs.
Answered by Christian from 4WP HQ on 05/11/2021
Q: Do the struts come assembled? Answer this question
A: They do not, you also have to either reuse the strut mounts or get new ones! The suspension is Amazing though! I have the medium stiffness because I have the ARB Bumper also and it is good!
