It works well, for 7-8 hours. Then it is dead and it won't charge in the amount of time it runs down. I have three now and can run about 24 hours with three but have not been able to charge one yet on the road with my inverter since the charger for this Power Pack overheats on my inverter. I have at times been forced to idle my engine in camp in order to keep the frig cold. I have some other power systems that give me another 8 hours but since I can't charge these as fast as they discharge, it takes multiple batteries to go for any extended amount of time. A normal 12v battery runs the fridge about the same amount of time. I have one that I charge with solar panels, but it has the same problem, it will not charge in the same amount of time it will discharge powering the fridge. The solar panels alone will not run the fridge. The fridge runs only about 8 watts most of the time, and intermittently draws about 75-80 watts when the unit kicks on. My 100 watt solar panels rarely make over 40 watts so they don't keep up with the fridge and it takes a full day to recharge what might give me 8 hours of operation. Even with these low power requirements it takes a lot of batteries to make it through one weekend. I probably need six to make it two days. I do appreciate the magnetic attachment. I can keep all three batteries on the fridge and just swap them out as they run down. It would be nice if they would connect in series or parallel. Since I can monitor the fridge from an app on my phone I can tell how the fridge is running while driving. That too is a nice feature of the fridge (but not really part of the power pack).
