My experience w/the 16060, 12V compressor by AirLift
After four years of use, the compressor, P/N: 16060 quit working & wouldn't inflate the air bags. Frustrating when you need air in the bags & cannot inflate it.
After determining the cause was a non-working compressor, I removed it from the frame rail. I removed the compressor from it's housing; found lots of sand & dirt inside, including inside the electric motor & gearbox assembly which is sealed with a gasket.
I removed, disassembled & cleaned out the electric motor & gearbox w/WD-40; soaking it overnight. The compressor now functions properly. Added some open-cell foam to the inside of the housing, over the vents hoping it will keep some of the sand/dirt out of the unit.
Considering where this unit is intended to be mounted i.e...under the truck, on the frame, I would have expected the unit to be sealed from the elements, however after 4 years & 50K miles, I'm not terribly disappointed.
Says it is a 200psi compressor but says working pressure is. 130 I want to set it up to run between 160 to 180 will this compressor handle these pressures ?
