The Hybrid side steps are the perfect solution for the customer who wants to bring a rugged style to their rig without compromising on function. The steps provide a functional platform to assist not only with entering and exiting a lifted vehicle but can also be used when needing to access any roof mounted accessories.
They seem solid and well built but they look a bit funny. They are long enough to comfortably step on but should have been longer as they would have looked much better. There aren't many 2 door options out there though so it's about the best you'll find.
Why would they not make these go back further…..looks really funky and out of place.
I like them, I really do, but very $$$ for what you get. It is nice that 2 bolts go to body/frame while 4 others go to the crimp welds. Another bonus is broncos are notorious for rocks flinging you from tires to body & now these steps are catching many of them!
4WP must have stepped up! I read the other reviews. I did not have any damage to the finish on my steps. They were very well packaged. I picked up at the Van Nuys store. The staff there was top notch. The instructions were sufficient. The parts hardware kit was complete, nothing missing. The steps fit. My Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch package came with sliders from the factory. I removed the factory sliders and the 4WP steps fit right up to the factory holes in the pinch weld and body. The quality of fasteners is more than sufficient. I believe the steps and hardware will hold up to some medium hard rock bashing. My Bronco is orange and the bright zinc fasteners and the matte black brackets were very noticeable on the rockers/ pinch weld area. Not a good look. I suggest painting with matte black to improve the look. I bought the Ford black plastic rocker panel guards to cover the brackets and fasteners. Trimming of the rocker panel guards is necessary to clear the brackets and fasteners of the 4WP steps, but easily done. As steps I am happy with them. I have yet to try a trail/rock turn with them. They are not advertised to be sliders, so I won’t critique them on that. Yes they are pricey, but they are in stock and I have no complaints of the fit, finish, welding, material quality, fasteners or brackets. The staff at the 4WP store add value to their products by being good to deal with and they know their stuff.
They are very well-made, and powder coated to protect against the elements. The thing I didn’t like is that they were very bulky hard to get out of the bronco without hitting your leg on the step. Also did not like it from the side where it exposed the pinch bar and all the bolts and nuts on the bracket.
Purchased these steps to protect the body from debris coming off the tires, appears to be perfect for this though the packaging was terrible, the powder coating is rubbed off in multiple places and there is chunks missing from them, the packaging was terrible, no hardware included, I also believe there is some bracketry missing at the rear mounting location, honestly I don't feel the value for the money at all
These are not inexpensive steps but they are nice and sturdy. Packaged very well and delivered quickly. If you have even the slightest bit of ability you can easily install these on your own. I did it by myself with a floor jack to hold them in place while I bolted them on. The holes align perfectly with factory holes. The first side I did took me an hour… the second side took 20 minutes with air tools. As a “step” they just don’t make sense because the factory height of a Sasquatch package but they will certainly protect the side of your Bronco from all the debris coming off the tires. They’ll also be excellent for parking lot door dings as they hang out far enough to intercept an incoming door.
Might want to paint the bolts that go through the production holes (6) bolts black. Otherwise a great product!
