A: Requires fairly simple cutting. Doesn't even require marking as the cut is right along an obvious ridge in the bumper. Comes with rubber trim piece to cover the cut line. Suggest you glue the rubber trim. Very nice OEM style look.

A: My truck is a 2019 (third generation) Tacoma. The only cutting required is the tabs holding that black plastic area is the front bumper where this will go. I also bought the optional wings, which required even more trimming of bumper and a couple inches of the front fenders. I wouldn’t change a thing with my install. Love this bumper with wings and lights in the wings and bumper. A: I read it fits a 12 k winch and thst agreat if all 12k  winches are the same dims. Are all 12k winches the same?

A: I have a Smittybilt X20 Gen 3 12K installed. Just had to install the control box to the side of the winch instead of in the middle. Works great with plenty of room. 

A: I believe the documentation for the bumper states up to 12,000 lbs winch. I have the Smittybuilt 9,500 lb. No issues. Love this bumper. Just added the wings a couple weeks ago. Looks great!

A: The diameter on my bumper is 1 3/4". 4WP should be able to answer the question. They should know all the specs on their products. The bumper is poor design. I had to cut a 3 1/2" rectangular section out of the bottom to eliminate the TRD skid plate interference. I also cut notches out of each side of the plates where it mounts to the truck so I did not have to cut my wheel well liners. I had the bumper powder coated again because it was poor quality and there was a rust spot about a 3" circle on the inside towards the front on a weld.

A: I have a 2023 TRD PRO and it fits really well, you MUST follow all directions, there are discarding of factory parts, relocation of cooler lines, and minimal cutting, but over all this bumper looks and fits great.

A: You probably don’t need to but you night want to upgrade the spring especially if winch is installed. Together is almost 200lbs. I installed the bumper and Warn VR winch and I did have to make some modifications to get things to work.

A: I can confirm that the bumper fits my 2018 Toyota Tacoma Off-Road. I had to trim the plastic bumper (per instructions). I had hoped that it would just replace the black plastic lower bumper insert but that is not the case. I also have full RCI skid plates, and they fit with this bumper as well.

A: The bolt holes in front are for a license plate.

A: Kind of. I have the same problem in Wyoming. I pulled off the 4wp badge above the fairlead and mounted the plate there. Can only use the bottom screws and there is only backing on the bottom half of my plate but it works pretty well.

A: I installed it in a 2019 SR5. The sensor site just above the brush guard. No issues. 

A: If you have stock bumper it will fit. Simple cutting required. Will not effect sensors.

A: I am not sure if it will fit your 2023 Tacoma TRD Sport. You will have to cut the bumper to put it on. I recommend not to by the bumper. It was poorly designed. It also should have come with a template for trimming the bumper. It is a guess and trial and error to trim it. It also requires relocating the power steering cooler. I cut a section out of the bumper, so I didn't have to relocate my power steering cooler. The bumper should have been designed that way in the first place.

A: I have CBI skid plates. Most engine skid plates will mount directly behind this bumper. 

A: It might technically be possible, but you're going to have to do some serious yoga to get in there.  I found it easy to install lights prior to attaching the bumper.

A: I found it easier to install all of the lights & other accessories prior to installing the bumper. You could do it after you install the bumper, but it will be pretty cramped trying to get a wrench underneath the mounting bracket to tighten everything down

A: I have similar set up on my 2023. Running 12k winch. Everything fit without any issues 

A: I don’t have a winch yet but I do t see why it would it not fit. The space inside the bumper is very spacious. 

A: I installed my 4WP front bumper (no wings) on 2021 Pro model. You will have to remove the black (for me) front bumper cover and the factory crush bumper behind it, and replace with the 4WP unit. That cover part where it attaches to the rest of the front fascia will have to be cut away with a higher powered Dremel tool. Look at their posted PDF file for instructions. This girl Chloe Kuo on YouTube installed same bumper and has a GREAT video on the install. I really like the design and looks of this unit compared to offerings from CBI and several other popular brands.

A: When I installed mine on a 2018 TRD Off-road, the mounting holes for the chassis bolts didn’t align by less than a quarter. Speaking to 4WP folks they just said to grind the bumper holes until it fits. Worked out great and looks great. The only cutting you will have to do is a bit of your factory bumper. Pretty simple just follow the instructions and watch some YouTube vids if needed. Chloe Kuo has a good video to watch.

A: Once you take the black cover off the front of your bumper and put this bumper on it is maybe an inch wider at the top and the same as original on the sides.

A: The bumper will not fit a Tacoma with the white TRD skid plate unless you cut a section out from the bottom of the bumper. I don't know how the bumper fits on other Tacomas with different skid plates but I recommend modifying the bumper instead of the truck. Easy to do with a Harbor Freight angle grinder or CNC machine. I modified the bumper so I could keep the stock location for the power steering cooler and keep the tow hook, and keep the right and left side c member extensions.

A: I installed on 22.  No problem    It is a great choice.  It mounts to frame and bumper     Having the lower area bolted increases strength a lot.    The wench bolts are tricky.   Tight area.    The light mounts are excellent.   

A: I have a 3rd Gen TRD Sport (2021) and the bumper went on without issue. I used a transmission jack to hold the weight of the bumper and the Badlands Apex winch I put in it. If you have basic skills and the right tools you can do this install in a day or two depending on how much you have to wire in. Your 2017 is the same platform as my 2021 so you are good on the fit. This style works on any 3rd Gen Tacoma so 2016 - 2023 are good. I believe the 4th Gen is coming out next year so this bumper will probably not work for the new gen as it is a complete redesign/refresh. Hope this helps. Drive fast, take chances.
