Your transmission was only designed to handle the torque and horsepower the stock engine delivers. So when you start adding power modules, turbo upgrades and other bolt-ons, it’s only a matter of time before the transmission wears out and eventually fails. Each BD Diesel transmission is dyno-tested to make sure it functions properly in all gears before it is shipped to you in one of our containers. Other options to consider when replacing your transmission are to mate the BD transmission with one of our Torque Converters, and add Flex Plates for enhanced performance and strength.

  • BD Diesel Transmissions

    Inside each BD Diesel transmission is a NEW DESIGN valve body that achieves up to 80% higher clutch apply pressures over the stock unit and up to 50% over the competitors, with the increase starting at much lower engine RPMs and a lighter throttle pedal position movement. Light throttle shift firmness is also maintained at these higher apply pressures. Our transmission packages also includes a BD rigid aluminum heavy duty transmission pan, which adds extra oil capacity and reduces case flex, plus it includes a BD auxiliary full flow filter kit for extra protection. Each transmission is dyno-tested to make sure it functions properly in all gears before it is shipped to you in one of our containers.

  • BD Diesel Torque Convertors

    In high performance, high-load situations, the torque converter bears the brunt of the engine’s force. Inferior torque converter designs can slip excessively, causing the oil to foam and boil and the front cover to “balloon”—even rupture. But BD Diesel’s torque converter was specifically designed to handle the kind of punishment you dish out. Built our state-of-the-art transmission facility, BD Diesel converters feature a stamp forged steel cover that is actually stronger than steel billet, up to triple the clutch material, has furnace brazed fins, and features our own billet aluminum stator design that maximizes the low-speed torque characteristics of the Cummins engine.

  • Valve Bodies

    An economical way to improve the performance and clutch life of your stock transmission is to install a BD Performance Valve Body. Our complete upgrade of the stock valve body consists of new valve designs, increased capacity springs, revised oil circuits, and optimized governor piston dimensions. The improved oil flow reduces temperatures and lowers torque converter evacuation time for quicker clutch apply. BD’s NEW DESIGN achieves up to 80% higher clutch apply pressures over the stock unit and up to 50% over the competitors, with the increase starting at much lower engine RPMs and a lighter throttle pedal position movement.   • Valve Bodies

    The power and torque that modified 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins engines deliver can crack or even shatter the stock flex plate. BD Diesel’s FleX-Plate is designed specifically for modified applications, and can reliably handle up to 1,500 lb.-ft. of torque. Twice as thick as the stock unit and made from forged steel, the BD FleX-Plate is precision-balanced and SFI-certified for use in race sanctioning bodies. Plus, a new black oxide coating resists corrosion and prevents hydrogen embrittlement that can cause cracking. The BD Diesel FleX-Plate is a direct, bolt-in replacement for the stock converter and is also compatible with most aftermarket torque converters. Great for stock, towing, or racing applications!

  • Transmission Pan

    High volumes of cool transmission fluid equate to a long transmission life. BD Diesel’s deep aluminum construction pans increase oil capacity, while the aluminum construction and heat-dissipating fins keep temperature down. As an added bonus, the pan’s increased rigidity prevents case twisting. Kit includes a magnetic drain plug and temperature sending unit port.

  • Transmission Filters

    Metal particles, dirt, and other debris can shorten the life of your heavy-duty automatic transmission. BD’s Full Flow external mount inline filter kit adds fluid capacity, keeps your oil clean, and comes with all necessary hoses, fittings, and hardware. It utilizes an off-the-shelf bypass oil filter for low cost and easy service.

  • TowLoc

    The TowLoc is a programmable BD Diesel transmission and converter control designed for exhaust brake applications. It monitors the operation of the vehicle's speed, engine speed, and engine load to compute the optimum transmission control algorithm. This process controls transmission downshifting as well as torque convertor operation for optimum results. It’s the most powerful transmission control yet!

  • AutoLoc / TorqLoc

    Contemporary torque convertors have two modes: fluid coupling, or "unlocked" mode, and "locked" mode, when the internal clutch is engaged and 100% of the engine's power is transferred through the convertor. The AutoLoc maintains lock-up when the exhaust brake is activated, ensuring that 100% of the retarding force is being transferred in 3rd and 4th gears, preventing slippage and subsequent high oil temperatures. The TorqLoc with its three position switch allows for manual command of the lock-up as well as AutoLoc and stock operations.

  • LockOut

    BD Diesel LockOut for the 2005 Dodge gives control of the overdrive function back to the driver, allowing the disablement of 4th gear (OD) for exhaust brake use or pulling duty.

  • PressureLoc

    The BD Diesel PressureLoc increases converter lock-up clutch apply pressure by 30% at light throttle by rotating the transmission’s throttle shaft to a position that approximates 3/4 throttle. It's designed primarily for stock or mildly modified engine applications and for owners who have installed an exhaust brake and would like added protection from slippage.

  • Manual Transmission Short Shift Kit

    BD Diesel’s Short Shift kit for Dodge five and six-Speed transmissions puts the fun back in your driving by reducing shift lever travel by 20%, resulting in faster, more positive shifts. The kit includes everything you need for an easy, do-it-yourself installation, including a billet aluminum shift plate, forged steel shift handle and high-strength fasteners.
