Not a Warn, but good deal for the money. The 10k and synthetic rope make it a great choice for the few times you really need a winch.

Comments about Smittybilt XRC10 Comp Series 10,000 lb. Winch:

Simple the best winch you can buy for the money. It isn't designed for hard-core hour on hour use and they state that in the description but if you need a winch for weekend wheeling trips, emergency recovery, or utility uses like moving fallen trees it works perfectly! This is my second Smittybuilt winch, the first was the standard XRC10. I will be buying another one of these later on for a permanent rear winch once I get started on the bumper build. After trying other cheaper brands these from Smittybuilt are all I will use and depend on, they've never failed me and I've pushed my current steel cabled XRC 10 past it's recommended limits a time or two.

The only con I could add is the slow line speed but in reality when would you need your winch and be in such a hurry you couldn't spare the extra 2 minutes for re-spooling? More of a comment than a con. ;)

Comments about Smittybilt XRC10 Comp Series 10,000 lb. Winch:

I ordered this winch because I was told that to every pound you add to you vehicle you must carry that up and over the next obstacle. Well to me thats important. Also in the last few years I have been off-roading I have literally never needed a winch nor has a buddy needed it. So I couldn't justify spending $1000+ on a warn that I might use 6 times in a year...MIGHT??
So I have used it three times. Once to play with it, 2nd to pull some guy who flipped his car into a ditch outside my office, and three to go a wet/muddy hill that I wanted to just play on. 94 Feet of synthetic rope was extremely easy to unspool and drag to the tree 50 feet away. Hooked up my strap to the tree and then hooked the clevis onto my tree strap. It never even blinked. I'll be honest too, the line speed it actually quite acceptable as I read reviews about it being slow, but heck just when I get my pattern start for rolling the rope around the winch drum, next thing I know I am at the clevis.

Great product at a great value. I like the synthetic rope, easy to use and easy to maintain. Simple and easy to install! It would be nice if it came with a security bolt or something though to keep it safe from thieves. I welded mine, but for those who cant weld I'd get a winch lock or something. Other than that, great product!

this is the first winch i have ever bought and i mounted it to a platform to slide in my receiver hitch in the front and back of the truck, and its not too heavy and seems to have good pulling power but time will tell,i read a lot of pros and cons and some of the cons that people have are because of their own ignorance but mine seems to be doing just fine and i have really put it to the test the day i installed it

          Service and delivery comments:

The product was super easy to install and has been great to use. I have yet to use it pulling out myself but I have used it to pull other vehicles and has worked flawlessly! The instructions were good/ bad... the good:
              -were in english only
              -they had some pictures

              the bad:
              -they weren't descriptive
              -installation instructions were poor

If you are looking at getting a winch the smittybilt is awesome and you should for sure get the comp.... Cables suck!

                  Connor-

Thank you for your question. To securely mount Smittybilt XRC10 Comp Series 10,000 lb. Winch to your 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ Sport 4.0 liter you will need a winch bumper or mounting plate. There are many styles and options. The bolt pattern for the XRC10 is a standard 10 inch by 4.5 in square pattern. Some mounts I would recommend would be http://jo.my/bkzipt or http://jo.my/8jvzsd .
