Comments about Rugged Ridge Winch Line Dampener:

The construction of this leaves much to be desired. The material is flimsy and it is poorly sewn. It will not last to any type of use.

I will be returning this as soon as I can get by a store, it's not worth mailing back.

Comments about Rugged Ridge Winch Line Dampener:

Recently used during a winch recovery in the snow. I didn't realize, first of all, that you're required to put a min of 5lbs of weight in the pockets so I ended up using some spare lugnuts. Ideally, the dampener should already have this weight 'sewn-in' for stability. Since the weight is only put on one side, you're forced to balance the dampener until the velcro fastener is put together on the bottom. The main problem is that the velcro didn't work properly when it got wet from the snow &, consequently, it kept falling off/emptying the weight during the winching process & slowed down the recovery. Maybe the more expensive ARB product doesn't have this problem??
