How to Install an aFe Air Intake System
Keep your car performing at its peak by regularly installing new air filters.
Congratulations on your purchase of an aFe air intake system! Replacing the standard air filter on your off road vehicle can provide you with 12 horsepower at the rear wheels and about 23 pounds of foot torque. Plus, the installation is just a few, very simple steps. With the experts at 4 Wheel Parts guiding you through it, almost anyone can install this air intake system.
- Before any installation, make sure you read the instructions and thoroughly understand all of the steps.
- Lay out the kit and make sure you have all the pieces you need.
- Determine if you have a filter that needs to be oiled before installation. If the air filter requires oil, it’s very simple. Just shake up your oil can and spray while turning the filter, making about four rounds. Let it sit until the oil has thoroughly spread over the filter.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the OEM box, or factory lid, by unscrewing it from the hose and releasing the factory clips.
- Remove the factory air filter.
- Tighten clamps on the air intake system.
- Secure the aFe lid with the factory clips and attach to the hose by tightening the screw.
- Take her for a spin and see the difference for yourself!
