4 Types of Auxiliary Lights
Breaking the huge selection of auxiliary lights into driving lights, fog lights, round lights, and flood lights.
There are a lot of different auxiliary lights available for your vehicle. An easy way to figure out which lights you should purchase is by asking yourself, “What am I going to be using these lights for?” Once you’ve figured that out, it should be fairly clear into which category your lights fall. Our experts at 4 Wheel Parts have divided them into 4 basic types of auxiliary lights to help make your purchasing decision as easy as possible
- Driving Lights
- White lens
- Long range, pencil-style beam
- Great for illuminating objects far down the road
- Best for seeing long distances
-
Fog Lights
- Yellow lens
- Gradual, spread out beam that gets underneath the fog and lifts it up to help illuminate the road right in front of you
- Best for evenings
- Not intrusive to oncoming traffic
-
9 Inch Round Lights
- Great for front light bars or overhead roof racks
- The brightest option. Best used for lighting up large areas.
-
Flood Lights
- White lens
- Cast a broad light on everything behind your vehicle.
- Not something you want to have on while you’re driving, but gives you some extra light if you’re hooking up a trailer, unloading your truck bed, etc.
